- Are you a high school student with a passion for learning and working with technology?
- Do you want to learn basic computer skills, computer programming languages, website development and database design skills?
- Do you want to earn scholarships and prizes based on your work?
The Philadelphia Chapter of the Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) is offering the opportunity for 25 students to enroll in the high school computer competition (HSCC) program. For more information, please attend the information session at an upcoming open house. The web technology program runs from Jan. 30, 2010 - June 5, 2010 each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
For students attending the competition, there are additional classes from June 26, 2010 - July 16, 2010. (No sessions on: March 27, 2010 - April 3, 2010 (spring break) and May 29, 2010 (holiday)).
Open House II
- - Who: Interested parents and students (8th - 12th grade)
- - Why: Speak with BDPA staff, learn about the program and register students
- - When: Saturday, Jan. 23 at 12:00 pm

BDPA Expectations of Students
1. Students must have access to a computer with internet (home, school or DeVry lab)
2. Students must show up on time
3. Students must participate in the class discussions, take quizzes, and complete homework
4. Students must participate in a fund raiser to help support the class
5. Students must participate in a summer community service project
6. Parental support and encouragement are crucial
