Detailed Information       Today's social web (2.0) environment calls for web solutions architects and designers to be keenly aware of the right way to implement web projects. Whether you project is a website, portal, web application, blog, or web service, it should be designed and implemented using web standards.

This dynamic presentation offers a methodology for using the tools of web standards: XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to separate markup from presentation and to work consistently across all browsers. Participants will learn how to design with web standards to facilitate: usability - the ability to find content quickly; accessibility - how easy can the disabled (and more importantly search engine crawlers) can access content; portability - how easy is it for various devices (computer, smart phone, kiosk) to display your content; and efficiency - how quickly your pages load. We will also explore how your designs can extend to the social web (blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, etc.) and some of the best-of-breed technologies that can be employed. Participants will be presented with real-world examples and will even be able to explore hands-on situations.

Web architects, designers and developers who don't know how to design with web standards will be left out of the Web 2.0 revolution!  Don't be left out!

This opportunity is made available to BDPA members as a part of Member Services.  The cost is free to current BDPA members, but space is limited to the first 25 validate registrants.
