Computer Forensics, also known as "digital forensics," is a growing field that enables information technology professionals to obtain information from electronic media from network servers, desktop computers and laptops, cell phones, cameras, handheld personal data assistants (PDA's), GPS devices and even game consoles. Computer forensics experts can retrace and document Internet activity including Google search terms, sites visited, downloads, email, instant messages, texting and social networking sites. Information that is captured, analyzed and documented is often used in a court of law.

As information technology professionals, you are already aware of constant insider threat and computer crime. The demand for professionally certified experts with the skills and knowledge required of digital forensics work is growing at an alarming pace. Could this be a career opportunity for you? Do you have what it takes to be a computer forensics examiner?

This session will review job growth, training and certification required for professionals and grant scholarships that may be available to members of BDPA.
