KC event aims to encourage science, technology careers

SCOPE -- which stands for Science and Citizens Organized for Purpose and Exploration -- will host an open-to-the-public science and technology night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City Thornberry Unit, 3831 East 43rd Street.

The evening involves hands-on activities for students and persons of all ages that demonstrate educational and career options in science and technology.

The event is partly supported by the Kansas City law firm of Polsinelli Shughart.

Scheduled exhibitors include: UMKC-First Lego League Robotics; Make: KC; Black Family Technology Awareness Association; University of Missouri-Columbia School of Engineering; and Missouri Biotechnology.
