 TeraGrid '11 | Salt Lake City | July 18-21


The TeraGrid 2011 Conference will showcase the capabilities, achievements, and impact of the TeraGrid in research and education. The conference will also mark the beginning of the National Science Foundation's eXtreme Digital Resources for Science and Engineering program and will give scientists and engineers information on the resources and services to be provided through this successor to the TeraGrid.

This year, the TeraGrid 2011 conference will showcase the capabilities, achievements, and impact of the TeraGrid in research and education. The conference will also mark the beginning of the National Science Foundation's (NSF) eXtreme Digital Resources for Science and Engineering program and will give scientists and engineers information on the resources and services to be provided through this successor to the TeraGrid.

Industry workshops, JEF and BDPA student participation follow:

  • Science: Demonstrating the impact of the TeraGrid through scientific results or the emergence of new communities.
  • Technology: Presenting technology developments and capabilities that enable increased performance, capability, productivity, and/or reliability of TeraGrid users, applications, and resources.
  • Gateways: Highlighting either scientific successes from researchers using a gateway or technology approaches to gateway design, development, and enhancement.
  • Training, Education, and Outreach (TEO): Representing innovative learning and workforce development applications of TeraGrid resources that help prepare current and future generations to advance scientific discovery.
  • Posters: Presenting new results or promising work in progress dealing with the use of the TeraGrid for scientific research and/or the development of new technologies for scientific computing.
  • Visualization Showcase: A digital gallery of the powerful, evocative imagery associated with the TeraGrid's most exciting and compelling results.
  • Birds of a Feather (BOFs): Engaging attendees in exciting, informal, interactive sessions devoted to forward-looking topics.
  • Tutorials: Providing participants with in-depth training to effectively use TeraGrid/eXtreme Digital computing resources and services.
  • Student Poster Contest: JEF and BDPA high school, undergraduate, and graduate students can demonstrate how they use computational science, including models, simulations, and visualizations, to solve science, engineering or mathematics problems.
  • Student Programming Contest: Teams will tackle a variety of science and parallel computation problems.
  • Student Research Papers: JEF and BDPA undergraduate and graduate students can describe their research.
  • The conference will be held July 18-21, 2011, in Salt Lake City.
