Cyber Security: Threats, Solutions, and Opportunities

Presenter: Edward Napoleon, Chief Knowledge Officer, Securely Yours, LLC.

The word "cyberspace" (that mysterious world behind the computer screen) traces its origin to science fiction literature in the 1980s.

Today, cyberspace, the Internet, and digital communications are worlds that most of us interface with every day.  These three words are often used interchangeably.  Just like the physical world, cyberspace is a place where the bad guys play.  They steal information from companies; launch malware to corrupt the environment, and nation states spy on each other.

The need for Cyber Security is directly related to the rise of the internet as the dominant global information-sharing and communications tool.  During this presentation, Ed Napoleon will talk about the risk of working in cyberspace and how cyber security is working to mitigate this risk.

Mr. Edward Napoleon is the Chief Knowledge Officer for Securely Yours, LLC.  He has over 30 years, of Information-Technology and Information-Security experience.  Ed is an adjunct instructor at Baldwin-Wallace University (BW), and prior to that, the Lead Principal in Ernst & Young's Global Information Security practice.
