$100M Available from DOL | Solicitation for Grant Application (SGA)

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 (the Recovery Act), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently announced the availability of approximately $100 million in grant funds for 20-30 projects ranging from approximately $2 to $5 million each.

Projects will provide training and placement services in the energy efficiency and renewable energy (EERE) industries for workers impacted by national energy and environmental policy, individuals in need of updated training related to the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries, and unemployed workers.

Proposed projects must be developed and implemented through strategic partnerships. National, nonprofit labor management organizations and Statewide or local nonprofit entities such as your local BDPA Chapter may be eligible to apply for grant funds under this SGA. The closing date for receipt of this fiscal year's ARRA EERE grant applications is September 4, 2009.

To partner with BDPA and its workforce development partners in the National Capital Region (NCR), to submit a qualified resume for inclusion with our proposals, or for additional teaming information, interested BDPA Members should contact BDPA's Washington, D.C. Chapter [BDPA-DC]: info@ncr-bdpa.org and include in the subject line: "DOL Grants" along a current BDPA Member-ID# (verified from https://map.bdpa.org.)

It sounds similiart to the grants given for FCC DTV installations.

If this is real under BDPA would I be working for the chapter thru sub contract from DOL?

How is this gong to work for individuals looking to get some of the DOL money to fund projects my own project.?
