Introducing Vincent Shorter - Candidate for BDPA Midwest Regional VP‏

Greetings BDPA Midwest Region Chapter Presidents,

My name is Vincent Shorter and I am a candidate for Vice President of the Midwest Region.  I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself: 

I am originally from Southwest Georgia.  A small town named Cuthbert, GA (about 2.5 hours south of Atlanta)

I have been living in St. Louis for the past 7 years.  

I have three children. Daughter who is a sophomore at Florida State University. Twins (boy/girl) who are seniors in high school. My daughter is participating in this years HSCC competition as part of the St. Louis Chapter's team.

I am a Senior IT Director for North America Supply Chain at Monsanto. Headquartered in St. Louis, Monsanto is a Fortune 500 leader in global Agricultural Sciences.  I am responsible for solutions that help deliver over $4.5 billion in revenue in the seed and crop protection business.

I retired from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of service.

I was elected president of my fraternity (Alpha Phi Alpha) while in college.  During my presidency, I championed scholarships for local high school students, visits to local children’s hospitals to share in the holiday season, and developing young men for service to their community.  

Started an organization called Positive Direction which raised money to help aspiring high school graduates attend college through scholarships.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Business from California State University, Dual Masters in Business Management and Information Technology Management from Webster University, and Chief Information Officer Certification from the National Defense University, Washington D.C. 

Former Board Member:  Youth Learning Center (  Still very involved with the organization.

Initiated the Corporate Advisory Board  for the St. Louis Chapter of BDPA. 

BDPA Lifetime member

As Vice President of the Midwest Region, I would focus on building strong chapters both financially and membership. Also, leveraging best practices across the region.  I consider myself a vision oriented leader.
