BETF, founded in 1992, serves as the 501(c)3 tax-exempt fiscal agent for BDPA on a local and national level. This subgroup is open to anyone that donates, partners or supports BETF. What say u? Do you believe in what BETF is doing? If so, JOIN US!

The vision of the BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) is simple.

  1. BETF wants to provide full-ride 4-year scholarships to the talented high school students participating in our annual computer competition.   Talented ballplayers receive 4-year scholarships.   BETF believes that talented STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) stars should receive 4-year scholarships as well.
  2. BETF wants flourishing Student Information Technology Education & Scholarship (SITES) programs taking place in each of the 45 BDPA chapters around the nation.   Every chapter should train at least 24 students per year ... with 5 of those students eventually representing that chapter and city at the national computer competition.
  3. BETF wants to see high school and college students from each of the 45 BDPA chapters around the country participating in the IT Showcase.   When each chapter brings at least one HS student and one college student to this event ... we would have 90 future Ph.D candidates being influenced by BDPA.
  4. BETF wants to see over 1,000 BDPA members enrolled in the BDPA IT Institute.    We need to see our members being certified as 'Associates', 'Professionals' and 'Masters' within the IT industry.
  5. BETF wants to see 540 program meetings taking place around the nation each year.   These program meetings would become meccas of networking amongst African American IT professionals located in the 45 cities where we have BDPA chapters.   These program meetings would be broadcast internationally using Web 2.0 tools.

BETF seeks to raise $5 million over the next five years so that we can help fund this multi-faceted vision.

It begins here in this Groupsite sub-group.

BETF wants you to be an active participant in this sub-group.  Share your ideas, thoughts, visions, questions and passion about everything related to BDPA, information technology or the Black community.

It begins with you.
