Confirmed Guests: July 14, 2015

BDPA Education and Technology Foundation is pleased to confirm that Dr. Karl Reid will be our guest on the July 14th episode of the BDPA iRadio Show!

In June 2014, Karl Reid became the Executive Director of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and advocate for increasing STEM access and opportunity for underrepresented populations. NSBE is the world's largest student-run engineering organization. Prior to joining NSBE, Dr. Reid was Senior Vice President of Research, Innovation and Member College Engagement at UNCF. In this capacity, he developed and implemented educational, research and capacity-building programs for UNCF's 37 member historically black colleges and universities

NSBE understands that having a technical career today is not easy. Technical professionals are constantly challenged when striving to achieve career dreams due to shifts in the economy and the fact that many companies are in a continual state if reorganizing and ever present standard practice for many companies to import talent from overseas. NSBE is focused on helping its members fulfill their mission to "succeed professionally". NSBE achieves their mission by providing multiple avenues to help them grow their career.

We look forward to hearing from Karl on ways that BDPA and NSBE ... both celebrating 40 years of existence ... can find ways to work together in 2015 and beyond.

BETF is pleased to announce that Norman Fleming will be our guest on the July 14th episode of the BDPA iRadio show.

Norman Fleming (senior director, MillerCoors) is a long-time member and supporter of BDPA programs, scholarships and services. He believes that BDPA is filled with information technology thought leaders that are making a difference when it comes to preparing the Black community to win the future in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Norman introduced BDPA to his company ... MillerCoors ... and the corporate partnership has flourished over the past few years. In addition to being a major sponsor at the national level, MillerCoors is working closely with our local BDPA chapters in Chicago and Milwaukee. In fact, MillerCoors hosts many of the public meetings for BDPA Milwaukee chapter!

Norman is a past winner of the BDPA Epsilon Award for Professional Achievement and he came within a few votes of being elected as the national BDPA president in 2007. He has a unique perspective on BDPA past legacy and future aspirations. BDPA iRadio Show listeners should enjoy the insights provided to us by Norman.
