BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) is pleased to announce that Maurice Trental (Cox Automotive) will be our guest on the April 12th episode of the BDPA iRadio Show.

Maurice Trental is a candidate for the vacant VP-Finance seat. There are four candidates for that vacant seat. Currently, Maurice acts as Senior Financial Information System Program Manager at Interactive Communications. Headquartered in Atlanta, Interactive Communications is a Fortune 500 leader in global payment systems. His organization is responsible for the delivering solutions that help deliver over $1.5 billion in annual financial transactions within the gift card industry.

Maurice joined Interactive Communications in 2015. Prior to his role at Interactive Communications, Maurice has been an information technology and financial consultant for over 20 years. Maurice has worked for Accenture, Deloitte, Nestle, and other consulting organizations as well as several independent business ventures. The most recent venture is a fashion company with operations located in third world countries to assist indigenous people improve their standard of living.

Throughout his life, Maurice Trentel has had a desire and commitment to serving others. He's a leader in business, an active participant in his community, and global citizen pursuing solutions to global problems. Early on, as a student at Purdue University, Maurice pursued his passion for leadership by being elected President of Purdue Student Union Board, School of Management Council, and participated as Student Member of Presidential Review Board of Administration. Maurice has excelled academically with MBA from University of Minnesota, professionally he is an accomplished information technology manager, and socially he has worked to improve his communities as a member of non-profits, volunteerism, Junior Achievement, among many other initiatives. In his most ambitious endeavor, Maurice is attempting to build a fashion industry within third world countries to employ indigenous people and stabilize local financial economies.

With a passion for his community, Maurice has maintained positions on several boards including Oracle Application Users Group, Seward Neighborhood Group (Minneapolis, MN), and Junior Achievement. He is a member of the BDPA Atlanta Chapter.

BETF is pleased to announce that Curtis Timmons (Cleveland Metropolitian School District) will be our guest on the April 12th episode of the BDPA iRadio Show.

Curtis Timmons is a candidate for the National VP-Finance vacancy. There are four (4) candidates for that vacancy.

Curtis currently serve as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The District comprises 7500 employees and 40,000 students and a $1 billion budget. He manages a staff of 50+ employees, $15+ million annual budget, and managed services contracts of $4+ million annually. Manages strategic partnerships (private and public sector organizations) and vendor performance and relations.

He is a proven business leader with 20+ years' experience in IT strategic and operational planning, financial management, business analytics, capital and operating investment planning, IT governance, and IT service delivery. Directed organizations of up to 130 staff and 45+ contractors. Managed annual budgets of $61 million that included CAPEX to OPEX transition, capital investment prioritization using ROI, NPV and IRR valuations. Negotiated technology products and services contracts upward of $35 million. Achieved cumulative cost savings of $30 million and was awarded federal program funding of $60+ million.

Prior to joining Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Curtis served as President, TMS Consulting; Chief Technology Officer, Memphis Board of Education; Senior Manager & Manager, e-Business Services, Sara Lee Corporation; and a host of other corporate companies. He is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 22 years as a Data Systems Officer. During his military career, his received the following awards:

In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Strayer University; and completing a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Strayer University.
